Harvest Festival Vineyard Weekend

Hello October! First week of October in the books and have to say it's been a pretty good one weather wise. Especially this weekend really leaves no complaints to be had. Beautiful brisk blue skies with temps right around 70F (21C) Just beautiful. 

This past Thursday I had a dentist appointment. Was just a check up and cleaning and thankfully all went well. I always worry that they will find the next big thing that I need to get fixed that will take ages and cost an arm and a leg. So always good news when things go nice and smooth.

Yesterday we started the day by going for a nice walk around the hay field at Maricostas Preserve. They have a lot more challenging trails with nice views from what it looks like but so far we have only done the loop around the hay field, which is still nice and a good way to get some exercise and get out into the fresh air. Had to take advantage of the nice weather. From there we headed to Spring Hill Vineyards. Had never been there before even though it's super close to a bunch of areas we have been to plenty of times. They had their Harvest Festival this weekend so there was cider, apples, cider donuts and so on along with wine of course. They also were supposed to have a BBQ food truck but the truck that was there instead didn't seem open at first and when they did open they didn't have a menu and the whole thing seemed a bit lackluster so we decided to skip that and eventually headed to the White Horse to grab a burger. They have beautiful outdoor seating overlooking a stream but the outdoor seating had a 45 minute wait so we decided to skip that and just eat inside. When we were done we headed back up the hill to the Hopkins Vineyard to finish off the day with some more wine. They also had live music and with the beautiful day it was a nice finish to the day just sitting outside relaxing.

No big plans for today but just enjoying the beautiful weather really. Let's see what next week brings. I know it's supposed to get quite a bit cooler but I guess that's not super unusual considering we are in October now.
